An email notification of the test cylinders break out time(s)

(On behalf of QC Tim L. )

It would be useful to have a notification of some kind for when it is time to do the 7, 14, and 28 day breaks on cylinder molds. We as Q.C. tech’s would benefit from this notification by not being late with breaks. It would also save us time so that we don’t have to physically check the dates on every cylinder to determine which one(s) should be broken and when.

My idea for how it should work is after imputing the test results in the samples tab for any given job, it would use the sample date and possibly send an email notification on the dates the cylinders should be broken. I’m not sure if an email would be possible but, maybe just be a simple pop-up notification when we log in to COMMANDqc would work, too.

Also if possible, it would be nice to have an option for early breaks for jobs that request one. Usually 3 to 5 day break.

    Jay,

QC - Tim L. asked me to relay this message:

I think all emails should come the afternoon before the test is due so that the Q.C. can plan there day knowing that they have those to do. Some times a Q.C. will have a very busy day and need the heads up so they can find the time to break the cylinders.

Great idea. I can see that the lead time for the email should probably be dependent on the age of the test. For example, an email for a 7 or 28 day test should probably come out the morning that the test is due. However, a test for 1, 2 or 3 days should maybe come out both the afternoon before as well as 1 hour before the test is due. Does this sound right?
